Secret Guitar Teacher - YouTube Channel

Just found these lessons and they are quite good.  His lessons on guitar picking and scales were quite good and I highly recommend them.  Also he has great tips for how to practice in an additive way. The videos on YouTube are free and there are quite a few.  He does invite you to go to his website where there are lessons you can pay for.

Mark the Guitar Guy

https://www.youtube.com/user/theguitarguychannel

Mark the Guitar Guy has a youtube channel which I have subscribed to.  Mark is an excellent teacher and I especially like his lessons for how to develop your finger muscle memory at the start of his lessons.  He gives great advice.

What could he do better?  Well I think his lessons are and smooth from one skill to the next.  They seem a bit choppy.  However, if you are looking for a specific lesson about a specific skill then he does a great job.

Still his site is a great place to start and he is helpful.

30 songs in 30 days

Keith Urban - 30 Songs in 30 Days
Keith Urban went on one of the shopping channels a couple of years ago and was selling a guitar package which included a DVD set of tutorials called "30 Songs in 30 Days." I don't know if he meant for this to happen but someone put all of the lessons on Youtube. They have been on for a while and I really enjoy them.  I was neutral on Keith before I looked at the videos because I didn't know much about him. After watching the videos you seem to get to know him a bit better as a person and I like that.  He is very encouraging and talks to you a lot about working through the frustrations that occur especially in the beginning. I don't think it is realistic to learn 30 songs in 30 days unless you have an inordinate amount of free time on your hands. But his lessons are good and they are fun.  Nice job Keith Urban!

Countrysongteacher Review

www.countrysongteacher.com/
This is a fun site as well.  Matt McCoy puts these lessons out which teach you how to play country music songs.  He does a great job of teaching you tricks and can get you going on a lot of songs quickly.  Go to the "Playlist" tab on his website where he has a long list of country songs which he has posted "how to" videos on Youtube.  He has taught me several tricks for easier chord transitions.  He sells DVDs and lessons which I have not bought so I don't know how good they are.  But based on his videos I would guess they are well done.  I like him because he is friendly and casual in his approach.  The type of guy you would like to have at a barbecue.  He also seems to be involved in good things like service missions in 3rd world countries.

My first review - Justinguitar.com

Justinguitar.com
This is by far my favorite site and I highly recommend it.  Justin has great videos which systematically teach you the guitar.  Each video is about 10 minutes long.  He is very thorough and organized.  He doesn't skip things either. Fundamentals are important to Justin but he also likes to have fun.  His personality is very friendly and encouraging.

Cost???  His lessons are free to all by the honor system.  Basically he encourages you to make a donation to help cover his costs.  But he doesn't pressure or harp on this.  Also he sells books which go along with his lessons. I haven't bought one yet but I plan to. Definitely start with his site if you are looking to learn the guitar.
